Rich Bartle got his start on the Sunset Strip in the heart of the '80s, as owner of a nightclub called 'Rich Bartle's Jet Set'. In the years since, Rich and wife created B.I.G. Production Services, a full service production outfit, which provides all aspects of live performance support-sound and lighting, backline, staging systems design and implementation for high-end corporate clientele at trade shows, concert venues, hotels and casinos. B.I.G. utilizes Cerwin Vega CV-2800 high-performance power amps, CVA-28 powered speakers, and the CVA-118 powered subs extensively in all of their productions.
"I chose Cerwin Vega because of the new speaker design staff," Bartle offered. "Their team is responsible for designing many of the large concert systems I use on my major national acts. The compact size of Cerwin-Vega speakers and ease of operation is a major feature for us, not to mention the amount of low-end response and their acceptance in the market. Many people still have fond memories of the innovative Cerwin-Vega scoops and their reputation as a quality subwoofer lives on. Now there is a wider selection of products to cover all of our event needs and the sound just keeps getting better."
Bartle says they've been using the CVA-28s mostly for corporate gigs, and have even used them as monitors for the Grand Opening of the L.A. Opera Gala. "I have used the CVA-118 powered sub for everything from a drum fill for Alice Cooper at The NAMM Show, to the main front of house sub at Kidstock, an art and music festival fundraiser attended by celebs and their children. The sub works so well in many applications from the big stage as monitor subs to a small gig as front of house P.A. As a consultant, I've also set the CV2153 dual 15" speakers on the Cooper Tires Racing Stages, which travel the country doing drifting, drag racing and professional bull riding events. In those instances, the speakers have to cut through the din of the racetrack, revving motors, squealing tires and fan noise and applause. They perform brilliantly giving great clarity and volume."
B.I.G. Production Services just wrapped the Professional Bull Riding tour in the Bismarck, ND area utilizing CVA-28s for all the additional vocal fill, giving clarity of speech in the VIP areas around the arena. This summer, they're hard at work on Ozzfest and simultaneously working both coasts doing the Virginia Beach Surf Festival and this year's Sunset Strip Music Festival, August 26-28th, featuring performances by Slash and The Smashing Pumpkins.
